Tinuy-an Falls

Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, CARAGA

Often called the Niagara Falls of the Philippines, Tinuy-an is the widest waterfall in the country β€” a three-tiered cascade stretching 95 meters across a basalt ledge before plunging into a broad emerald pool. The volume during and after the monsoon is staggering; bamboo rafts carry visitors to the base of the falls through the spray. The surrounding Bislig rainforest is part of what remains of Surigao del Sur's old-growth canopy, and the access road passes through secondary forest reclaiming old logging tracks.
