Taal Volcano Island
Talisay, Batangas
A volcano within a lake within a volcano—one of the world's most unusual geological configurations. The 311-meter Main Crater rises from Volcano Island in the middle of Taal Lake, itself sitting inside the ancient Taal Caldera. The hike to the crater rim reveals a steaming turquoise inner lake below. Taal is one of the world's most dangerous volcanoes, last erupting in 2020.
