Surigao City Seafood Boulevard
Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, CARAGA
The waterfront strip of Surigao City comes alive every evening with open-air restaurants selling the catch from the surrounding Mindanao Sea. Kinilaw na tanigue, grilled squid, and butter-garlic prawns from local fish pens are the standards; the specialty is sweet local mud crab steamed in tuba (coconut wine). The boulevard faces the ferry terminal, and the sight of inter-island vessels departing at dusk past lit fishing boats in the bay is quintessential CARAGA.
