Mt. Hibok-Hibok

Mambajao, Camiguin, Northern Mindanao

Camiguin's youngest and most active volcano, a symmetrical cone rising 1,552 meters from the island's center that last erupted destructively in 1951. The two-day trail passes through primary mossy forest where pitcher plants, endemic orchids, and the rare Camiguin hawk-owl have been recorded. The summit crater — still gently fuming — offers a 360-degree view of the Bohol Sea and, on clear mornings, the full volcanic spine of Camiguin laid out below.
