Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary

Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, Davao Region

A UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting 75,000 hectares of Davao Oriental's rugged interior, including the world's smallest known forest of pygmy trees at the summit β€” trees centuries old but no taller than a person, stunted by ultramafic soil and cloud. The sanctuary protects 341 plant species, 37 found nowhere else on Earth, along with Philippine eagles, hornbills, and the Mindanao tree shrew.
