Mt. Halcon
Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA
Widely regarded as the most technically demanding major peak in the Philippines, Mt. Halcon rises to 2,585 meters through muddy razor-backed ridges, waist-deep bogs, and knife-grass terrain that has defeated experienced mountaineers who underestimated it. The summit mossy forest holds endemic pitcher plants, orchids, and birds found nowhere else in Mindoro. The ascent typically requires 5β7 days even for fit parties. It is the peak serious Philippine mountaineers train years to attempt.
