Miagao Church
Miagao, Iloilo, Western Visayas
The Santo Tomás de Villanueva Parish Church, known as Miagao Church, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Philippine Baroque architecture. Its remarkable 18th-century façade blends European Baroque with indigenous motifs — papaya trees, coconut palms, and local saints carved in golden-hued Miagao sandstone. A living fortress-church still at the heart of its community after nearly 250 years.
