MacArthur Landing Memorial

On October 20, 1944, General Douglas MacArthur waded ashore at Palo beach making good on his "I shall return" promise, marking the liberation of the Philippines. Four larger-than-life bronze statues — MacArthur and his generals mid-stride in the surf — mark the precise landing point.
