Lake Sebu

Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN

Cradled in a highland valley at 1,000 meters in South Cotabato, Lake Sebu is the ancestral homeland of the T'boli people and one of the most culturally significant lakes in Mindanao. Three interconnected lakes — Sebu, Lahit, and Seloton — are ringed by forested hills where T'boli villages maintain traditions of weaving, brass casting, and haunting t'dung music largely unchanged for generations. The mist that settles on the water at dawn and the sound of frogs and hornbills that follows make mornings here genuinely otherworldly.
