Lake Buhi

Buhi, Camarines Sur, Bicol

Lake Buhi is a 1,800-hectare natural freshwater lake in the mountains of Camarines Sur, famed worldwide as the home of the sinarapan (Mistichthys luzonensis) — the world's smallest commercially harvested fish and an endemic Bicol species found nowhere else on earth. The lake sits 300 feet above sea level, ringed by hills and fed by mountain springs, and is a vital livelihood source for surrounding fishing communities. Boat rides and lakeside walks offer peaceful views of this unique inland ecosystem.
