La Mesa Eco Park

The last remaining forest within Metro Manila — 2,700 hectares of watershed forest attached to the La Mesa Dam that supplies a significant portion of Manila's fresh water. The 33-hectare eco-park has walking trails, a kayaking lake, and bird species unrecorded elsewhere in the metropolis for decades: kingfishers, flowerpeckers, and occasional raptors still using the forest. On weekend mornings it attracts dedicated birdwatchers from across Manila who come specifically because there is nowhere else left to go.
