Kalanggaman Island
Palompon, Leyte, Eastern Visayas
A nearly uninhabited island with one of the most spectacular sandbars in the Philippines β a white sliver extending hundreds of meters into the Camotes Sea that practically glows in afternoon light. The surrounding reef is pristine and rich with hawksbill turtles, and day-trippers share the island with no permanent residents. At its narrowest, the sandbar is just wide enough for a beach towel on each side.
