Great Santa Cruz Island (Pink Beach)

Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Peninsula

A small island off the coast of Zamboanga City whose beach is tinted a delicate pink by pulverized organ-pipe coral mixed into the white sand — one of only a handful of pink-sand beaches in the world. Access is by a short vinta ride across the bay, the brightly painted outriggers arriving at a beach with no development beyond a ranger station and a few hammocks under the trees. The surrounding marine protected area keeps the snorkelling exceptional.
