Del Monte Pineapple Plantation

Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Northern Mindanao

The largest single pineapple plantation on earth stretches across 9,000 hectares of highland Bukidnon, a rolling sea of green crowns producing roughly a third of all Del Monte canned fruit worldwide. Guided tours take visitors through the fields, processing plant, and the company town of Canitoan β€” built in the 1920s with its own school, church, and golf course. The highland air is cool, the rows are mathematically perfect, and the pineapple eaten straight from the field is incomparable.
