Callao Cave
Peñablanca, Cagayan
Seven cathedral-like limestone chambers stretch beneath the karst hills of Peñablanca, carved over millennia by an underground river. The most visited chamber holds a functioning chapel where light descends from a natural skylight—mass is still celebrated here. Archaeological digs in the cave produced the Callao Man fossils dated to 67,000 years ago, the oldest known human remains found in the Philippines.
