Philippines' oldest Roman Catholic church (est. 1565), housing the Santo Niño image presented by Ferdinand Magellan. Baroque architecture completed 1739–1740. Pope Paul VI designated it the 'symbol of the birth and growth of Christianity in the Philippines.' National Cultural Treasure (2021). Sinulog festival held annually in January.
