Ardent Hot Spring
Mambajao, Camiguin, Northern Mindanao
A natural geothermal pool in Camiguin's forested interior, piped from a volcanic spring into a bathing pool surrounded by coconut palms and rainforest. The water runs between 38°C and 42°C year-round and smells gently of sulfur; soaking in it after a Hibok-Hibok hike or a day of island-hopping is one of the simple pleasures the island does perfectly. Best visited at night, when the pool quiets and the forest above is loud with frogs and insects.
