Apo Reef Natural Park

Occidental Mindoro, MIMAROPA

The largest contiguous coral reef system in the Philippines and the second largest in the world, stretching 34 kilometers across the Mindoro Strait. The atoll supports thresher and whale sharks in the surrounding channel, Napoleon wrasse and bumphead parrotfish on the reef flat, and one of the highest coral cover percentages in the Philippine archipelago. Day trips from Pandan or Sablayan reach the reef; the dive quality competes with Tubbataha at a fraction of the logistical effort.
