Alona Beach

The compact strand that launched Panglao's dive tourism, Alona Beach packs world-class diving, casual beach bars, and a lively backpacker scene into 1.5 kilometres of white sand on Panglao island's south coast. The house reef begins just metres from shore, and dive boats leave at dawn for sites like Balicasag Island and Cervera Shoal, where thresher sharks, whale sharks, and hammerheads have all been documented. Above water the vibe is barefoot and social, best over fresh puso and cold San Miguel at sunset.
